Hukatere Lodge a timber building, that can tell a story. The bedrooms with verandah are relocated and were originally parts of the hospital in Kawakawa. The kitchen joinery is made out of timber from a recycled water tank. The breakfast bar used to be construction timber for the Auckland harbour bridge.
There are five bedrooms: 4x with a double bed and 1x with two single beds.

All of the bedrooms open on to the verandah with sweeping views over Ninety Mile Beach to the Tasman Sea.
The verandah leads to the dining room and lounge with large and well-equipped kitchen.
The kitchen includes: Full gas cooker; large fridge/freezer; coffee maker, extensive cooking utensils, baking pans, cutlery, and crockery.
The lounge features comfortable couches and provides a radio/CD player and piano.
The large bathroom area provides two toilets, two showers, and two washbasins plus a separate room with bath, bidet, toilet, and shower.
BBQ & Hot Tub
A large patio at the rear of the lodge has a BBQ and there is a gas-fired hot tub (at extra nominal charge).
Food and Drinks
We can provide a stock of food and drinks by prior arrangement.
Smoke-free & pets
We are completely non-smoking. Pets are welcomed by arrangement. However, they are not permitted to go inside the lodge.

Gabi Pfaender, your host, is an artist with an avid interest in sculpture, painting, photography and printmaking. Her work is influenced by the costal scenery where she lives and works. Gabi is very passionate about creating and nurtering this place where people feel relaxed in a comfortable setting with all mode and coms. Hukatere Lodge and Camping Ground in the wilderness along the Ninety Mile Beach. Where you never stop to gaze at the forever changing scenery of the west coast. If you like the outdoors, sea, coast, and wild horses this is the place for you too.
